If LSU is as good as all the SEC fans claim they are, then why did they have 2, almost 4, losses?

If they are THAT good, shouldn't every game they played be a blowout? None of those games should have even been close, right? So why is everyone wanting LSU in the BCS NC game? It would be embarring for the NCAA to allow LSU to play for the title! An arbitrary decision to put them in there is NOT what NCAA football needs this year. Of course, SEC fans would love to see one of their teams back into the championship game wouldn't they?
